In today's world distractions are both numerous and potent. Every facet of our social lives has evolved into some way for people to waste time. From social media to the endless scroll of meaningless celebrity gossip, one can find a nearly infinite number of ways to distract themselves if they so choose. For many companies and corporations, the distraction of the population entails many benefits. Cell phone games, social media sites, sensationalized news stories are all ways to increase the profit margin. The more people that a company can suck into wasting time on their specific product, the more money they can earn through advertising or subscribers. I personally consider the possibility that the deluge of meaningless information and time wasting products are an intentional calculated effort by the global economic elite to maintain a confused, unaware population. I myself have had difficulties maintaining my focus when trying to write. The endless list of possible time wasting, leisure, activities can sometimes be too appealing to refuse. As a result my work can suffer. I believe that I can become a better writer. I have made progress with my time management and focus, but there is always room for more improvement. I think that the hardest part of writing can be getting started. Pulling oneself out of the daily routine to sit down and articulate your thoughts into an intelligible series of statements can be very difficult. For me to be a better writer, I would want to eliminate any unnecessary thoughts or statements from my writing. I would like to develop a more fluent writing style, and learn to articulate myself more exactly. 1) Be active, keep the blood flowing. 2) Don't be afraid to get started, just start writing. 3) Keep track of my progress. 4) Wake up early and start working. 5) Use your time efficiently. 6)Observe, analyze and speculate.
